Schepens Eye Research Institute, Mass Eye and Ear offers the following Scanning Electron Microscopy Services to both investigators at SERI and MEE as well as  to other academic and non academic investigators in the Boston area.

Our JEOL 7401F Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscope provides high resolution microscopy.  Although the microscope can be used for routine conventional SEM, using very low voltage this microscope can also generate high resolution images  (5-6 nanometer resolution). The higher resolution capability is very useful for immuno-gold labeling at the SEM level. Services for conventional SEM are available to faculty and staff at the Schepens and MEE on a fee for service basis.  In addition, we offer these services to other investigators in the Boston area.  Also included in our SEM facility are state of the art sample preparation equipment:  Tousimis Semi-Automatic Critical Point Dryer and a Gatan Ion Beam Coater.

The facility manager at SERI is Ann Tisdale in Dr. Ilene Gipson’s lab. For additional information contact her at: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or 617-912-0247.
