Andrius Kazlauskas selected as recipient of Research to Prevent Blindness Award

 

 

Andrius Kazlauskas, PhD, Associate Scientist and Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at HMS, selected as a recipient of the Research to Prevent Blindness (RPB) Lew R. Wasserman Merit Award.

Accompanying the award is a $60,000 grant provided by RPB. The Lew R. Wasserman Merit Award is intended to help the recipient pursue promising scientific leads and opportunities. Dr. Kazlauskas is engaged in eye research at SERI.

    “Since joining the Department of Ophthalmology Dr. Kazlauskas has applied successful and rigorous approaches to elucidate the molecular basis of blinding eye diseases. His work provides the conceptual foundation needed to develop next generation approaches to treat and prevent blinding retinal diseases,” said Joan W. Miller, M.D., Professor and Chair of Ophthalmology at HMS and Chief of Ophthalmology at MEEI.
